That was a great tour. So good of you to know that we, your friends, family, and others would have an immense amount of curiousity about the place. It really is a fun place and with plenty of room, you won't get in each other's way even though living together.
I hope you can get your hands on a spray painting unit. Those are really tall ceilings.
The views are amazing; it seems like one could never get tired of looking over the balcony at the scene below.
You got a very nice bedroom . And the built-ins are quite surprising.
After seeing your apartment, I'm totally not surprised. It's almost exactly what I would have expected to find in Cairo, which was basically mixed blessings where some stuff is amazing (the size, the views, some of the furniture) and some stuff is not quite so much so (the condition, the rest of the furniture), but the location is awesome. From what I can tell you are kind of on a diagonal street heading towards the Corniche. I think the Intercontinental was the hotel Nablo made me eat at cause he was sick of Arabic food, so if I'm not mistaken, the Nile is basically right on the other side of the Intercontinental, and so you have to be about a block from Midan Tahrir and less than a block from the Nile, and basically, sweet location. Definitely going to be different that living in the dorms, but I think cause of where you are and the fact that you're actually going to be really living living in Cairo, you might just have even better memories of this trip than Dubai in the end (sacrilege, I know, but still, I've been known to be wrong). Here's to a great adventure!
Hold on to that thing for me, it looks amazingly perfect. I won't say much more because it will just be echoing what everyone else has said but wow. Wow.
